Samsung Good Lock 2020 arrives More upgrades including LockStar new APK

Good Lock is a popular way to customize your Samsung smartphone and as promised, it has received a major update today that brings support for Android 10 and One UI 2.0. Until now, users upgraded to the latest OS version have not been able to use GoodLock, which apparently needs to work perfectly.

If your phone originally ran Android 9 Pie, you may need to remove and reinstall each module to make them work properly - some updated versions failed to open my Galaxy S10 + Until I did that. A restart may also be required, and even then a couple of modules still won't start immediately, asking that I try again after a few minutes. Lockstar has not been updated yet and it is not tragic.

You still see a new splash screen, though, and the app now supports dark mode based on the system-wide setting. Once you've updated the main Good Lock app (download from APK Mirror), don't expect a sweeping UI changes. Modules such as EdgeTouch (APK Mirror) and EdgeLighting+ (APK Mirror) only get minor updates with this release. Routines is now part of Bixby on more recent Samsung phones, but some can still make use of the Good Lock version if need be (APK Mirror). Nice Catch (APK Mirror) adds only a setting change history, useful though that is, but some of the other modules are getting more meaningful updates.

Task Changer has a new vertical stack layout for the rickets screen that looks neat, while the carousel option has a new cube effect that you can use to scroll between apps.

Hot Star gets a new lock screen icon so you know where to swipe - you can personalize the icon itself, color and opacity of your choice, as well as support for Dark Mode and One UI 2.0 .

QuickStar gets better color coordination when transparency is used and some new default themes to choose from. Dark mode support is also mentioned, but it seems like if you have a light theme selected, toggling dark mode does nothing. So there is room for improvement.

MultiStar has a bunch of new features including a quick launch capability that allows you to jump into the multi-window UI by long-pressing the recents key, assuming you still use button navigation. The oddly titled "The long live app" will not kill processes of selected apps — presumably, this comes into effect when you exit multi-window, although it's not entirely clear. Pop-up view is enhanced with new options for keeping last used and preventing minimization.

The theme park has been updated with much-needed dark mode support, so you can now bake both light and dark options in a single theme.

One-handed operation + can now support multiple gesture handles at once. You can also customize the intensity of the vibration and change the color settings for animations, among other new features.

Unfortunately, the NavStar update took a nap, so you'll have to wait a while for that one with Lockstar. It is also worth noting that what is currently available to you may well vary depending on your device and region, so don't be discouraged if you don't get everything too far.

The main GoodLock app has seen a small update with nothing interesting mentioned in the changelog (APK Mirror), but some of its plugins have received more meaningful upgrades.

Lockstar finally gets its big 2020 update as Samsung has extended it to version 2.0.00.0. It doesn't look anything new, but support for Android 10 and One UI 2.0 is here, and that's the important point (APK Mirror).

NotiStar has also received an update (v2.1.21.2), which has a couple of bug fixes related to hiding notification content and overlay filters. The developers also say that they are aware of an issue whereby the handler appears on the app screen and is working on a fix (APK Mirror).

Task Changer has been upgraded to version 3.0.00.10, introducing a new 'Gesture Cube Effect' setting toggle. If the gesture signal is clearly off then the helper is not working, but it will be fixed in the next release (APK Mirror).

Other minor updates include Clock Face, which features D-Day, Momo, Orchid, and some new Clock Styles to the name of Korean (APK Mirror) and Edge Touch, with nothing new in Changelog (APK Mirror). A minor patch for one hand operation fixes the dark mode issue.
